Whatever anxieties, fears, unknowns you may be staring down today, I pray these words might reach you and remind you that God is a good father who says many patient times, “Do not fear.”

You stand in the midst of the unknown, already there with arms outstretched to catch me, like a daddy proudly watching his daughter take her first steps: “Come on. I’ve got you. Just a little further. You’re doing it. I’m right here. I’ll catch you.”
You don’t ask me to go it alone. You’re already there saying, “This is going to be so good, I can’t wait for you to see it. I’m getting it all ready for you. Trust me. I still have things to work out for your good, and I want you to wait here. Don’t run ahead, it won’t be ready yet. Just wait here. I’m waiting right beside you, and I’ll take you when it’s right. I can hardly wait for you to see all I’ve prepared for each of you here. It’s so good because I love you this much.

Love this! I teared up a bit at the proud dad part. Thank you for this amazing reminder of God’s plan for us! It’s nice to hear at the beginning of the week.

“First Steps” is a wonderful choice for an illustration. So sweet to see the hard-working farmer has dropped his shovel to use his arms for encouraging his daughter! How excited he is. How excited God is when we move toward Him on our shaky legs.
